We have been using G.Skill in a number of laptop upgrades around here over the last 6 months and this round was just as impressive as the last. If you have laptop that can support up to 32GB and you find yourself putting that laptop hard through it's multi-tasking rounds every time you use it (especially if you work with complicated programs like CAD, video editing, and more), then this jump in memory will prove wonders for you. We typically put our systems through hell and back, encoding video, working with graphics, editing audio, benchmarking various hardware/gadgets and so much more. Sometimes they are used for production needs and we require a stable operation without any hiccups (ideally). This memory is both fast and reliable and gets the job done without any crashing, anomalies or anything else getting in our way. Even better at its new price, now that we are seeing certain models drop to a more reasonable level for both consumers and businesses alike. Also works great for other devices like mini-PC setups that allow for memory upgrades (vs the models that contain DDR3L/DDR4L memory that is soldered to their board and cannot be upgraded). **If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so I know. This helps me provide quality feedback in the future.

I see some reviews saying it didn’t work. You must first know your machines limitations and should not mix ram. Install all the same. Preferably a matched kit. This is the 3rd machine I’ve installed 4 sticks for total of 64GB. One in an ASUS G751JY and G752VY and again in a Dell P51. All work flawlessly with lower latency than the stock Samsung OEM modules that are more expensive. Anything over 2400MHz in a laptop is a waste as there is no way to set it in the BIOS and 2400 is max. It will set by spd. The first boot may take extra time while memory training. After that smooth and easy. There are only two upgrades you can do to laptops, memory and drives. I highly recommend this memory for laptops. Easy to install depends on the laptop. To replace Stock sticks in ASUS models it takes a great deal of disassembly work but there are plenty of tear down videos on you tube. Once you have done a few it’s a 10 min evolution. The additional ram that can be installed under the user service panel is extremely easy. For the IBM/Lenovo take the user access panel off then 3 more screws hold the keyboard on. Remove those screws and flip it back over and push back then pull up on the keyboard. No need to disconnect ribbon cables. Just flip the keyboard out of the way and the factory installed ram is easily accessed. As stated it’s best to replace all the ram with same part number and preferably one kit.

These RAM sticks did not work in my Dell XPS 9550, as they fail the built-in diagnostic test in the Dell Bios (F12) and crash Windows after stressing RAM. The crash leaves the screen in an animated garble of horizontal lines. Seller was very good about accepting the return and I even ordered a second pair, to see if there was a problem with the chips. Same problem. After further investigation, it appears that the stock RAM on a 9550 is CL=15, these sticks are CL=16.

I've used G.Skill memory several times and I've never had a dud. This set is no exception. The actual DRAM chips are manufactured by Samsung, so it's 100% name brand hardware. If you're looking for some DDR4-2400 memory modules for a laptop upgrade, these are one of the best choices. I installed these into an ASUS VivoBook S530FA laptop and have had zero problems. It booted right up, detected the new memory, and has worked great ever since. I ran four loops of MemTest86 and these sticks passed with flying colors. They're perfect. Here are the SPD timing values programmed on these sticks according to HWiNFO64: DDR4-2400: 16-16-16-39-55 1.20V DDR4-2133: 15-15-15-35-49 1.20V DDR4-1866: 13-13-13-30-43 1.20V DDR4-1600: 11-11-11-26-31 1.20V DDR4-1333: 9-9-9-22-31 1.20V

I have 4 x 16 for my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) I'm a very hardcore photoshop and after effects user and this (along with an nvme m.2 thunderbolt 3 scratch disk) has made my time editing so wonderful. So far, so good. It has not been used in conjunction with other brands of memory (including the 8gb installed in the iMac I removed) so I can't speak of compatibility with other brands.

Memory ram is great for my gaming laptop. ?? The only problem was the shipping but that for me was not a big deal , knowing whats going on in the world. Worth the money to buy this memory ram. Would recommend if you want better speed . Just should you know the shipping problem was here where I live...... it's not the sellers fault, the item arrived in great condition, but the mailman took it to another city and then they explained the the package fell in one of their crates and got mixed with the other mail to another city. But the important thing is I have my item.????

I started playing fortnite with my kids on my laptop. It consistently lagged and crashed. This was a great value. Received in a timely manner. Watched a short video on installation and was probably up and running within 15 minutes of receipt. Interestingly it seemed to slow down my startup speed, not much, a few seconds probably, but overall performance is significantly better. Benchmarking to fortnite the lag is occasional but I believe it's wifi and not RAM and crashes rarely but I believe that is the game. Great purchase. Happy all around. I would recommend this

Got this for the little lady and I to upgrade our laptops, for my ASUS it snapped right in and auto-config itself. Sadly I wasnt so lucky with my wife's laptop had to go into the BIOS and edit stuff manually. All and all it was probably the best purchase I've done in a bit

Easy to install. You only need to unscrew the back of the laptop and gently snap off the back. Using a plastic card like a credit card will help detaching the back. I used a guitar pick and started from the hinge where there is little room between the back panel and the laptop. I slid the guitar pic gently between the back panel and laptop to split them apart. Slid the pick all around till the back snaps off. Then just pull the hinges of the old RAM apart and it should just pop right out. Take out the old RAM and snap the new RAM in. For first time installers there are videos you can watch that can help with install. When installing my only tip is don't try to slide them in flat against the computer. Angle them in to the slot then push down flat to snap in.
